hello again everyone! I'm just wandering what you all use for doing quotes and designs?
our jobs are getting a little too big to continue scribbling on the back of fag packets and i'd like a tablet so, for example, i could take an ariel view from google maps and draw on it there and then - bonus points if i can then attach a keyboard to make it become a laptop for office work.

I've been considering the surface pro but looking online, a lot of people suggest against windows due to it being sluggish and lack of apps etc (although it would be very useful for configuring CCTV, alarms, etc) i'd like opinions and suggestions from people who've used various products.

an ideal advantage would be to use the tablet in the van for maps, calendar, spotify etc which points me once again towards android.

The ipad also looks good but i generally try to avoid apple as much as possible.

	Thanks in advance!

Can anyone advise with regards to a remote control helicopter. I have seen some available on Dhgate for about £7 per unit, I was thinking of purchasing some to sell on Ebay but I just wondered if anyone could provide some advice..?

So has anybody else got a Amazon echo ? I've got a echo dot , along with Philips hue bulbs and a Logitech harmony hub , I think this is just the start to home automation as there is thousands of things you can do with it . Would be interested to hear if anyone else has one and what they do with there's .

Been pestered by the kids about getting a mifi mobile broadband device to take away with us on holiday. Am I missing the point here and thinking isn't it just the same as having data on your phone ? Anyone had experience with using such a device.

Not that it was new when bought but a bargain price for the time, so five years on,i make a note to get new (larger) one for games playing. - yipee!

So last Saturday, we buy and collect a second hand conservatory, comes with radiator, ceiling fan and some other goodies.

seller phones tonight 'did i accidentally give you the remote for my exercise machine?', well tbh we did notice two remotes, but thought possibly one was faulty and had forgotten about it.

Wife digs it out from the big plastic jar of screws and bits that belong to the conservatory.

Noticed the LED light on this remote is on, so i press the power button and - wallah, the Tv turns itself on - mystery solved - but now i have no excuse to go buy a fancy new Tv .

I use Intuits Quickbooks, they offer desktop and cloud based systems, much as Office 365 amongst others.

Given the fun and games O2 had, with their mobile services going down i am reticent to trust others services so fully. i do lodge backups on several free services, and I can see the advantages of working from anywhere i have WiFi, and if my laptop breaks-down or is stolen, but my fear is of losing access.

2 versions available the lite is free, but but no saves,

But best bit is a free PC version, you can import fDFX files from your iPad full version, then work on them as needed on the bigger PC screen before sending them back via email.

this is not auto cad but a simple cad - made for blokes like me, and saves me finding fag packets to write on .

This program was properly bought by developers and used to aggressively to advertise other apps and increase their revenue, which also increased the spread.

it got under the rogue activity radar by acting normally for quite a while, laying dormant waiting until a signal was sent by the control server to infected devices, ordering them to text or contact premium rate services.

recently on a site carpenters were laying flooring sheets, making a bit of a din running screws in, i'd assumed they were using the torque settings. then i noticed they were not piloting 1st, but drivng screws straight through the MDF into the joyce. having boarded my loft a few years back i was pretty impressed and asked if they were specially hardened screws, got shown this magic bit of kit. they were using,a Makita impact driver.

before anyone posts a sneer, these must have been around for ages but i've never noticed them and so bet other engineers are the same.

obviously, the advantages are of being able to drive screws into hard surfaces with so little effort making it a lot easier was not lost on me, i'm no shrinking vioet bt using one of these i like having an all in wrestlers stregnth powering the driver bit.

the impact action if you don't know, is used when tyres are fitted, the speed gun taps not forces the wheel nutts off, or on. doing so at speed, so this is a smaller version of the speed gun and akin to taping a 'T' bar around with a hammer or mallet to release or secure a tight nut or bolt..

when you drive home a screw using a normal drill fitted with a tip, it will try to lever out as the screw gets tighter, often stripping it out. but this method bangs the screw round, then releases the pressure at spead, so the tip has less chance of levering out and then skidding leaving you to drill out the screw.

you can't abuse it as it will eventually behead the screw, but to go that far would be plain daft. i've used them to drive bolts and nutt wen installing wall mounted camera brackets, also to relase rusted bolts on flood lights when changing bulbs, they really are worth their weight.

since 'discoverng' them, i've bought a S/H 12 volt makita impact driver for the heavier duty work, a small Black & Decker impact driver (model now discontinued), i bought cheap on offer at Homebase for my tool bag, and a B&Q own brand impact driver grabded for £12.00, spotted in an end of line sale, tbh i would not leave home without them, and compliment the Bosch UNEO i mention in another thread.
