Hello just thought I would introduce myself, I have worked within the security industry for about 12 years now, and worked around various areas, from manned guarding to CCTV operator to internal investigations to theme park security. Then one day decide on a change where i went into ground investigation, that was the only normal job I have ever had, became very bored of that and had a burning ambition to work for myself, so for my sins, about 3 years ago, I got some training and set up as a locksmith, this was the best thing I ever did, and it went from strength to strength... i found my customers were constantly asking me if I could recommend someone for an alarm or…

Well, this is post #1! I've read a few posts and having finally just purchased my first alarm system for my first house, I thought it might be a good idea to set the ball rolling with the introductions should I require any advice upon installation! Just to give a small summary, I have purchased a Gardtec 595 (v1) system with Nova 6 external sounder and twin G-Tag RKP's. A DIY system... it's going to be a fun weekend when I move in!

Greetings All. I moved into a property that has a 9800 scantronic alarm system fitted. Its a bells only system. I year ago it started going off so my Mrs rang the number of the "engineer" that fitted it. The end result was that the internal siren cable was cut and the fuse pulled out from the spur socket. I'm not sure why this was suggested and was quite surprised when I got home to find this out. Anyway, now whenever I power up the system again all I get is a code "SR" - which the manual states is a sytem reset. I'm really keen to get the system working again and know it needs a new internal battery and the siren internal reconnected. However, I'm a bit stuck with …

Hello all ,heres my problem have had a new alarm fitted to my house,all works ok,the installer kindly set up my old alarm (modern alarms series 3400) to cover entry points to my garage and shed ,now when he restarted the system after setting it up the display comes up with alarm needs master reset,which he dosnt know the code for,have tried contacting original installer but no luck with number,can any one help me or point me in the right way to getting the alarm up and running thanks alot

Hello all,dipped in and out of the site many times over the years and found some really useful info but never signed on,thought it was about time i did. very quick c.v..been in alarms 13 years now,started back with securicor and got swallowed up with the shorrock,initial,rentokil thing and stayed for another 5 years until it got time to move on and and came over to a.d.t and 6 years on am still here..thats it really..look forward to posting some and reading more.
