Introduce Yourself

Hi all, just stumbled on this site whilst looking for an obsolete manual, and looks interesting. Used to install 4-6 household systems per month (alonside my normal job), but now just stick to maintaining systems and family or friends installations since knee problems put paid to regular installations. That's the hard part over, hope to be able to assist when I can.

Just saying hello as I've come here looking for advice on CCTV cameras. I've been lurking for a bit and reading some interesting topics.

Hi all, I'm from South Africa. We use alot af different DVR system and I've had a some trouble with some of them. My most current System is Avermedia. Been using it for more than 3 years now, Had no real problems with it to date and thats due to some decent technical back up from our local importers. I'm just trying to find out if anyone else out there is familiar with this product range and what they think of it. I think its a brilliant system. I've noticed on some topics that Geovision is mentioned. They are also very popular here in South Africa but I've had some not so good expiriences with the product. could be bad tech support i surpose. Any comments?

Firstly hi to all! My reason for joining the forum is to get some help relating to the optima xl6- basically there appears to be no power to the unit. I've took the from cover off, no major clues apart from the fuse on the right hand side of the unit has been taken out- any possible reason for this? Also, knowing absolutely nothing about electrics, would I be safe enough trying to put the fuse back in without turning the power off in the house? Sorry for the lame questions!
