Hi all,

 

One of the two bottom screws securing my Pyronix Enforcer control panel snapped, meaning it's currently held together with electrical tape! I've got a replacement backplate to fit, but this obviously means I've got to disconnect everything to fit. Is there any way I can disconnect the Deltabell and stop it from sounding while I swap over the backplate? I think I know the answer, but the Deltabell is up quite high and a pain to get to. Any advice on what is probably a stupid question much appreciated! Thanks, Rob.

Yes it is, doh would have helped to mention that!!

Bell will sound for 15 minutes while it's disconnected from the hold-off voltage.

Set yourself up for a quick changeover or get up to it and remove the battery.

As i expected, thanks for confirming, much appreciated. In my crazy mind, I was wondering if you could rig up something to temporarily pass voltage down the line to make it think it was still connected, but probably more effort than it's worth.

Depends how it's all wired tho, if your going to take time you can disconnect and send power to it via a battery , otherwise as above I guess 

 

Keep windows and doors closed that way it doesn't bother you lol

Thanks, I did look at options to temporarily provide a battery feed, but in the end I let the alarm sound for 15mins (pre-warning neighbours in advance)!! 😆

This is the reason you use proper gear. Diy stuff can be disabled but what would you prefer an off switch? Or worse an off code.

You have found out that compliant equipment does as it says.

Although bell can be reconnected within a min or two of you skilled enough 

 

I would have let the old panel hand some how cut the plastic or something got the new back plates in and powered up may odd disconnect but it would have been quick

I'd agree can quick change in minutes but we've done it before, although you wouldn't have let the neighbours know...

Did the right thing there, you have told them you have a working system and you don't want/expect it to cry wolf.
