Old Sony ip cameras onto hikvision nvrs.

Featured Replies

We have a site running milestone vms but want to change it to hikcentral ,has anyone had any experience getting Sony cameras working on hikvision equipment. They won’t pay to upgrade the cameras(104) until new budgets are released.

I doubt the old sonys are onvif? How old are they.

Bit of a strange situation , the milestone licence is split between various sites and the installer (not us) didn’t purchase the correct amount of licenses. So they need to buy a new copy of mile stone and a new licence for every camera. The cost is coming in a lot larger than the budget allows.

I’ve gone through the cameras and can’t find any onvif settings. The cameras are about 14 years old so I fear they pre date onvif but hik have said they may still work , but I can’t see a way how.
