I work in IT related tasks. I'm tech-savvy. I was thinking of writing a program to brute-force test all the codes, but it's too much work

In that case my advise to you , is take it on the chin and put this panel in bin or back on eBay

 

Buy a new alarm like an enforcer which probably right up your street being nice DIY panel to an extent 

 

I think the main sentiment was not to waste time on a duffer rather than a specific recommendation TBF

Yes , I think sometimes or allot of the time , its wasted on old panels , yet a everything else is updated around the house 

 

 

Update: I got the panel working a couple of days after my post. It is running smoothly, and most important, free.

What code did you find in the end as the default Adt installer code? 

I have just moved into a house with the same alarm and also can't find the installer code after defaulting.
