Try contacting Pyronix @ www.pyronix.com, they should be able to advise you and point you in the direction of your nearest registered Installer.

Basically get another installer , first year is free I think but you have to pay for this service , he will reset codes which is required if engineer access is not available

Job done

Or don't pay anything and leave it how it is

I know this won't go down well, but if anyone buys from someone that is too cheap they probably won't be able to afford to be around for long. I'd suggest you find a company that has been around for more than 5 years

I sympathise with the OP.

What happens if a customer decides to cancel a maintenance contract after the first 12 months. They no longer able to use the app for the system they have paid for and own?

I dont think he was a cheap installer he was a certified.

Do i need to pay again for a new installer or just yearly maintance charges.

But i think this is a real cheating from the Pyronix and also from installer they dont tell all this while installing.

Pyronix should give control to owner not the installer. as you might decide not to use the installer for yearly maintenance his services might is ****.

you work hard save money and buy a house and give security control in some ones hand whome you dont know.

I don't think Pyronix have cheated anyone, it was the responsibility of your Installer to make you aware of the fact that after the first year you have to pay a fee to continue using the service. A fact your Installer would have been all too aware of.

Pyronix are a business like any other and there to make profit, not to give services away for free.

Did you ever question your Installer about ongoing fee's ?.

If you can't get in touch or nobody has taken over his "contracts" he was a cheap installer

I suspect your "certified" falls short of what we think a proper installer is

I suspect if you go to a proper alarm co. there'll want the system on a maintenance contract

The installer is the one that's purchased the controls & set up & register the app.

There's no agreement made between pyronix & you.

No you can use system but not the app , atleast with hkc that is the case

If it's what your saying with pyronix, must be more to it aswell , op blagger perhaps

Reading what the op is saying again, he can use his system , just not on the app

He wants control over the app , which won't happen no matter what he does

So needs new installer

Plenty of installers on the enforcer etc so should be no problem op

You wanna know the worst part?

The installer can connect to your alarm system anytime he likes and alter the programming without you ever knowing using the Pyronix software Insite. There is no visible or audible indication on the alarm system.

I strongly advise you to go to the keypad and press the 'D' key and enter your master/manager code and make sure that the options 'Block UDL Set' and 'Block UDL' are set as yes.  As default they are both set as No which allows the installer to do anything he likes with the alarm system with no indication whatsoever. He can also download the log which shows if the system is set or unset. I'm sure you will agree a huge security risk to yourself no matter how highly the installation company is regarded!

Even worse than that if a engineer leaves the company he will still be able to access your alarm system as long as the login details remain the same and he has access to the Insite software!

The crazy thing is if you an engineer attends site to program the system locally just by entering the programming mode will generate a audible alert. If he connects remotely through insite there is no alert!

Engineer on site cannot access your user codes, remotely using insite software he can view all the codes!

That's weird man

On hkc , if the system working on app, customer would get a notification "engineer here"

If system is set you can't access, if system unset you still get that notification , even with engineer access always you get internal bells locally and remotely until you press a key

So customer would hear something

Codes can't be viewed though

On hkc you can't access engineers without user authorisation everytime via the keypad.

The bells thing is non compliant and an issue I have if you use the default bells only option. Engineer access needs authority regardless of proper comms etc

If setting the Block UDL set and Block UDL are set to Yes,  will the engineer still be able to access the panel but I'll know he has?

Ps. Whats UDL.  Up/Download?

Yes Upload/Download. (I don't know how Pyronix cloud works, but on Eaton this would be an option only relevent to telephone (or direct IP) access and not cloud access. To block eng. cloud access would be a different setting. But having re-read the initial thread it seems this is the universal block setting for all types of remote access on this panel)

I would imagine you would always be able to see engineer access in the log, again on Eaton this would also be pinged up in the app as a push notification. Though again re-reading above, it seems otherwise...

No doubt someone that actually knows the panel will be along shortly ;)

Funny I used to use a few Pyronix accessories (TwinAlert, BGM, Vocaliser, years ago PIRs) and occasionally we would help out with a Castle installer on larger or approved jobs but I've never fitted a single Pyronix panel.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands
