Texecom V4.00 Issues

Featured Replies

TBH no point in me lying, I've been around long enough and respect people on here enough to know that does not work. Just telling what has been found and that we will look for the best solution to minimise the issues in the future. The wireless keypad is unique in many respects, not least the fact that it obviously sends larger packets of data than any other device, so issues are bound to be more apparent when signal drops off.  On the plus side nobody else has a wireless keypad that offers the functionality that we do.

@datadiffusion apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I completely forgot and just trawled back through my mail, no fault found by our QA guys, passed all functional tests, not sure what else to say?

OK boys and girls, we have done some testing and have found the following:-   There is an issue with keypads when they are right on the border of hopping, but don't. So in the tests we have

Deffo plenty of false alarms unfortunately, none since the replacements...

How long do you soak test them for just out of interest?

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Soak test for weeks if reported fault, I have seen devices on test for 6 weeks plus, some literally forever, everything else from a test point of view at build is as required by BSI (KItemark), the relevant EN standards etc.... and our own functional tests

Interesting thing is that both the keypads I fitted on Monday were over the 40% threshold you mentioned. On the ricochet monitor, One was 3/5 and the other was 4/5 on signal bars and both were direct to the panel with no hopping ?

The figures quoted are from the Ricochet diagnostics on the keypad, again if yours were that strong I definitely need that kit back to look at. I need to understand if anything else has contributed to the issues seen on this site, with that kit.

Ok, instead of me totally ripping this entirely out and sourcing an alternative, Can someone approve sending us a replacement kit with 2 keypads. At least I can speed up the swap out by importing the original config off my tablet before going to site. Then I'll arrange for it to come back to you. If that's possible I will speak with the customer tomorrow to arrange.

Yep no problem I will get that sorted for you, give me a shout tomorrow once you have spoken to the customer so I can arrange to get this shipped. Once you have the other gear out if you can pack it I will get it picked up.

Texecom Ricochet is a great system for very patient alarm engineers

I've had nothing but problems . Fitted 25 and 17 of them have been problematic. Wrote to them explaining the issues of return visits beyond belief. I have all the proof I need and other alarm companies that no longer use them. I have not touch them now for 3 years. Now using either Pyronix Enforcers or Eaton wireless products with proven non return unnecessay call outs. So all the excuses of wether or not it was fitted correctly, can go straight out the window. I'm about to rip another one out after only 4 years and replace it with an Eaton Scantronic. This will be the second one I have had to replace as a complete system out of my own pocket for the respect I have for my customers. IT AINT ON!

Although what you picked will also get to you eventually

Eaton far behind and you picked them because?

Enforcers? Because of hik?

Just wondering

Was there a reason to revive an 8 year old thread to bitch about kit you stopped using 3 years ago?

Firmware is currently 6.06.2 and this thread is about wireless keypads on V4.

Clearly the kit wasn't for you just use something else. I don't have any issues with any Texe stuff I use but whatever...
