Many moons ago....

 

You used to build up your own EWD's placinga kinetic siren into cqr box ect...

 

We used to have a bell module w/o a cut off timer which had the electronics in a beige plastic case but the electronics filled over with an expoy resin,

 

I have a little electronics projects & wanted to cover the cobbled together ebay tat so its weather proof & not recognisable as a lash up ;)

Beware! I'd only recommend with an old glue gun used only for that purpose!

 

Otherwise I just look out for SWA kits on ebay that are near sell-by date. Got a load of 3M ones lately, £1 a pop!

They were for some obscure fibre joint, just opened up all the boxes and binned the odd y-shaped plastics.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

I've been googling & remembered the term "potting"

 

Hot melt is ideal, ta

Potting compound, messy stuff (voe, with a black desk top now).

Just look for any comms van parked up with a fibre joint they always carry resin packs you only need one....
