bee_man
What's the general way of doing a sash window with wired sensors please?. Wireless was easy, one part of the sensor on each horizontal across the middle. I'm presuming it's going to need two sensors, but how to get wires out or stop one magnet hitting the other sash is puzzling my old brain a bit. Is there a 'standard' method please?. I know I could use a PIR but I'd rather stop them getting in in the first place. Are glass break detectors a reliable option?. Thanks, bee Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34772-victorian-type-sash-windows/ Share on other sites

bee_man
Good idea. It would have to be the top and bottom frame as the sides have sash weights moving up and down, but that's ok. Oxo
As above. FMC in Top and Bottom with magnets in sashes. Although, technically this could be classed as "open out" as no protection for the mags. So Surface mags for them then !!! Seriously, who wants to see surface on those!! Go for the flush. breff
As above, just make sure you put a bit of silicon over the bottom contact and screws, I've seen lots of them corroded as water gets in. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34772-victorian-type-sash-windows/#findComment-327586 Share on other sites

As I said "unprotected". In more than one meaning. You mentioned something most would miss. Top man.
