June 14, 201312 yr Author comment_327665 I'd always use stainless screws, and there are plenty of plastic potted switched and magnets available. No reason I know of not to put a good coat of gloss paint over it (after testing it on the plastic). Don't know the term "open out". As for magnets in the sashes, right next to the sash is cedar panel about 8mm thick and the lead weights go up and down right behind that, so it would be quite difficult to find somewhere switches will fit amongst that. No doubt surface mountwould be the easiest solution but it would look ugly as oxo suggests. Thanks all. bee Edited June 14, 201312 yr by bee_man Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34772-victorian-type-sash-windows/page/2/#findComment-327665 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
