February 17, 201313 yr comment_306141 Hi all, I would like some advice on buying a DVR to setup up a home security system. I have been hunting the MINEFIELD of DVR's and just want to make sure I don't end up buying a box of junk. I have been looking at the Procom 8 ch DVR with 1 TB HD Here is a link to it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320921369058 I would like to have access to it via the net and also allow limited access to it via my website and use both PTZ and fixed cams. So is this a good buy or is there something else members think would sute my needs better ? February 17, 201313 yr comment_306155 There are a lot of junk dvrs around. The one you have looked at is by far from the most spectacular in the world but there are plenty of them and similar from a number of suppliers. What is the most you are prepared to pay for one? 73s www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/ Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34091-advice-on-dvr-please/#findComment-306155 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 February 17, 201313 yr comment_306159 Tbh at £200 mark all products in that price range aren't going to be staggeringly different in terms of quality. They are built to a price. I wouldn't expect the earth. Someone here might have a particular favourite but it is a case that you get what you pay for and £200 is at the very low end of the scale in dvr terms. Better than a VHS tape though. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/ Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34091-advice-on-dvr-please/#findComment-306159 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
