I decided to move away from the cheaper end of the market on Ebay and got myself.

 

LJD COLOSSUS Series Embedded Net DVR 16ch

and 2x ultra 8 speed domes x22 by american dynamic

 

I should get it all some time next week and am looking forward to getting my head round it

for programming.

 

I am sure I will be back with setup questions

never used one. Maybe some on here have. so no comment im afraid.

Why dont you look for a decent used DVR? Id much rather drive a used proper car than a new tooty car. Quite often people upgrade from a four way machine to an eight or eight to a sixteen etc

As a commercially available  DVR i rate the current siemans stuff.
