Do Most Panels Change Their Circuit Polarity?

IAS

Recommended Posts

pretty sure but we are trying to remember something from 1986 (last time I read a manual) seem to remember it been when proggramable zones became the norm.

I only recall alarm & tamper circuits being pos & neg?

I assumed defined un 4737 ?

used to get pos & neg tamper ccts for t & w/ foil etc

(check out 9100 cct board)

the original "double pole" .......... problem was when we started selecting zone type you could have two positives side by side, you should alternate pos/neg in joint boxes too

lifes too short.

lol

I stand corrected then. Im amazed that a panel would change its polarity. I know the gal dont do it, not the castle. But thats the limit of my proper knowledge.

Thanks for checking hpotter, and sorry paul.

You could have got away with it as the 9651 doesn't do it ;)

can use invert attrubute to allow connection of those oc pa's arf mentioned. Though why you would beats me. (how do you do fsl on oc pa/pm? - feel a thread split coming on :fear: )

85en that is.

you have no need to worry, the OC PAB was killed off a long time ago ;),

Arfur

but if you ever need to, use a simply 'unerversal relay' to interface it, this likely only affects me - due ti the age of some of my systems

lol!

Arfur

we were talking about the CU`s from before you were born, quite literally.

i wonder how many on here would still recognise the terms 'lock block and coffin' and 'monoptic ray'?

Arfur

no, its not a secret masonic password ;)

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
