  1. Different subject but a takeover should always be fully defaulted and reprogrammed to prevent issues like this.plus you dont know whats sparre off etc. however timstool?
  2. Or any access for the previous company
  3. Sounds like it was a takeover without defaulting panel (dangerous and shouldn't be done Imo) As it wasn't defaulted the comms programming is still calling home itself giving the previous provider with full remote access. Only way to remove the password is to default. Then only you can access etc
  4. Regarding power, id knock off the whole house at the main switch to confirm its not a device in your house.
  5. Id start by powering stuff down in your own house first and ensure it isnt something of yours. When there is a powerfail in the area does it stop?
  6. if it has no tamper it isnt 50131 compliant. The component may be but if its disabled in firmware its longer compliant
  7. it was in alarm and you have silenced it? have you pressed reset? assuming you dont care about it and not serviced etc? do your neighbours a favour and decomission it before it causes you a problem alternatively if your asking for the burglar code that kills a system, obviously it doesn't exist outside of diy grade systems
  8. as above its a dialler not a keypad wont work in that way
  9. Group issue? Looks daft but I'd say local programming issue
  10. Before we go red Indian on this I think the chief poster has mustard answers
  11. Sorry I assumed from the op he was connecting it to bell -
  12. I believe the rules are quite loose though, it seems anyone that applies gets to be a 'registered installer'
  13. but when you wire it like it sounds all the time? WHat does your meter read between bell and HO+
  14. Scantronic ion is old 1 way rf though? Never used orisec to comment
  15. Agreed, if someone is prepared to fit a system they dont support, train on etc id run a mile. If risco is what you want, look for companies that specialise in risco. But as the service etc is provided by the installer id recomend you find the installer you are happy with first. The best kit can be installed badly and result in unreliability. Also if you specify the equipment if you have any issues then the installer will quite rightly say, its the gear you wanted. We all have our preffered kit that we test and setup a certain way.
  16. Keypad look is subjective some love one on type others prefer something else etc. At home I have these
  17. Why do you want a touch screen? Or is it just a good looking keypad?
  18. That's the product. You use switched mode in everything else ie computers, phone chargers etc etc
  19. No its just you could overrun a linear psu.A switch mode will disconnect on the same overload. However the losses on a linear are huge. id estimate a new psu on an average system will save over 80 quid a year. That was before the current prices for electric. Id say its worth replacing linear psu for switch mode now more than ever. Logan just dont tell your parents how much electric your old gear hobby is costing them.
  20. Use a load of electric though. Switched mode are much more efficient than old linear ones
