  1. 1% is a great stat
  2. from the days of fighting the old man on kit we use I install wise didn't want to use it. As was expected I lost an we fitted em. We then had to remove them all due to FA's that was then. Now in recent times things are different sia don't use em but sw does. Its not the number 1 detector returned as unfit but brand wise its top 2. id add look at numbers, how many fail vs how many fitted?
  3. as above if free then good vfm...
  4. ah you want something cheap then not fussed on long term performance?
  5. I couldn't possibly comment. I suppose at some point a distributer will start to publish return rates etc with reasons. If you don't want a Honeywell detector then look at others. Many on here speak highly of the risco ones, I like the Vanderbilt units but they are more expensive. Bosch is also highly rated here
  6. id agree you don't need to use a Honeywell detector. But look at anything but a Pyronix kx imo
  7. the volume is dictated by the wattage of the driver in the panel and speaker efficiency id of thought all of the actual spks are about the same
  8. before you do try the Texecom tech support line. Tell em you just bought a premier and it makes no sense. See what your answers are. From that buy texecom
  9. op you ask a forum of trade peeps they will give their advice and yourself and others reading will assume they are doing the protective thing. Some here do. Most acknowledge that those wanting to diy using pro gear will do that anyway.
  10. back to Dacia the other brands are a rip off. I pay more than that for my one drive storage.
  11. id go for the HDMI route as if the link fails the unit in the garage will still have viable recordings

  15. so you drive a dacia sandero? or a duster? that's the car and 4x4 answer sorted who needs anything else
  16. no my point was you want quality in your car and your phone. If so dismiss both of your choices Visonic and Pyronix are cheap. they do a job like cheap things do. your not using the same logic on your security purchase that you do on your car etc
  17. so its not about cheap, ill exclude the Samsung for now you want good?
  18. what do you drive and what phone do you have?
  19. you cant compare the 2. look into wireless security on your 2 systems. but if you want cheap then security and reliability are not top 5 on your list of requirements
  20. or use a panel that knows its been attacked and will fire the bell if the panel is removed
  21. if someone was to force the front door and take out the panel just there in the hallway during entry time then what?
  22. could be a faulty device but id also suspect cable. Test with your meter
