  1. ^^ Whats the private meter for, the dungeon? Yeah I remember those, we very occ. used them on flats where they didn't want anything outside at all, or for big houses outbuildings that sort of thing. I had one of the matching SAB speakers left over for years, no idea why I kept it, finally used it on a commercial job a while back. I can find a picture of the ones I've got (their buried) but they had the same guts in a very slim case, which was semi-translucent (it had a strobe). Internal use only.
  2. Does she keep sending you cards from the local STI clinic?
  3. We've done this one before. Nearly had it as my bell when I restarted in '05 Discontinued soon after. Very similar looking to Granley but, apparently, nothing to do with it. IIRC the people who made those bells for them were a very small eng. firm rather than a security known brand name. There was an absolute mint very late Securicor Granley bell sheltered in a Maccy D's drive through canopy near Bristol for years. Turns out it actually WAS the active bell (I'd always though it was the dummy) as it has just been replaced
  4. Oh yeah I forgot they didn't do their own dualtechs did they? I've still got two of their 'flat lobby' SABs with the totally translucent case, because you never know!
  5. Ah, that's yet another version you've got that I'd forgotten about! That must fit in between the original Eurobell (as you say the modern and round Eurobell covers are 100% interchangeable) and the Elmdene 'economy' metal box and combined strobe version.
  6. I think the timeline goes like this... Original bell - no strobe at all, complete unit made by Scanny "Mk II" - space for an optional strobe (cover elongated with a clear lens) which consisted of a separately supplied PCB that slots in (strobe PCB possibly not made by scanny) "Mk III" - cover still made by scanny?? Possibly not, siren definately made by Elmdene, metal box with built in strobe. Also white models with 'ADT Modern' and Telecom Security branding (most Telecoms dummies). Also Sonitrol / Sentrol? "Mk IV" - cover made by Elmdene, siren made by Bentel, an Italian division of ADT Current bell - complete unit made by Elmdene in China, with matching battery dummy, and now also wireless model.
  7. No, at the moment they are discharging prisoners at PJs age / level of criminality
  8. Odd though wasn't it? "Hello, welcome to Gardiner Technology , we've got Gardtec panels, Novagard bells, Gardtec PIRs, Gardiner Technology 1.5" screws... oh and, I know this won't interest you, we also sell DSC"
  9. DSC - so crap, I believe the Gardiner Technology shops were happy to sell them as the only other brand they sold to reassure their customers they were making the right choice with Gardtec
  10. In which case, dummy bellbox every time, for a perfect fit between price and ongoing maintainance liabilities. Plus no ugly controls to cover with a teatowel! And I'd make it a knuckle dragger recognisable brand, e.g, Yale or ADT
  11. FML, just bought this Scantronic curiosity... Since it was never sold as anything else, gawd knows what they paid to have it developed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Telecom-Security-TSL-705-Model-05500UK-50/383505014989?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  12. Just out of interest do they supply the black marker?
  13. What I don't want to do is spend so much on kit to transfer water from where the roof / main butts are to the back garden veg patch that with replacing stuff I might as well of just paid for the water (I put a tap in at the back anyway)
  14. And a record three times in the readers wives section?
  15. TBF the whales could handle some real shite that somehow got into my engine bay on the boat (river water gets through the 1800s spec stuffing gland most boats still use aorund the prop) and water / mud / trees / shite washes through the hatch covers.
  16. Does not compute LOL just about sums the market up. £2k budget for HA £20 budget for security panel
  17. Yeah I used to have a tiny £29.99 12V Whale on the boat for the engine bilge and was always pretty impressed what it could kick out. I had a Whale Gulper (more like £100) for the shower and Kitchen (sink just too low for over the edge gravity waste) - at the boat show they demo it pumping lumps of sponge and bouncy balls in the water - and it works fine!! Slightly more than I expected - £190 top end or about right? (obviously buying 100s will be cheaper!)
  18. Actually having just seen the items in the picture, it would probably be because you don't have the bus powered wireless keypad reciever/transmitter!
  19. Probably be more useful than the instructions if I'm honest
