  1. Quite a bit more than £7.50 price increase me thinks Sitting here, downing the local beer without a care in the world. I'm sitting here on the beach with the Atlantic Ocean just 10 metres away...

  5. Ifsec have called the office 4 times to ask if we are going, ...Erm No thanks, We wont be going now its in London... Daft idea
  6. Bad practice is that, What happens if you lose a few of the commercial customers.... You're left to find it somewhere. A customers account should be funded by its own revenue it brings in, Not from another customer They are just eating away the profits from other work that comes in, Its just not sustaining itself ... There is only one way that will end..... Anyone with even the basic business skills should know what that is That's my take on that one,
  7. You would imagine so, I only got half way through it, had to turn it off.... too graphic for my stomach I see where its coming from, Sometimes its this hard hitting approach that could make people think twice before doing something stupid Unless they are a total fuktard of course, then they deserve to get hurt.
  8. I have an unofficial training cd from our H&S advisor here with pictures of some pretty horrific accidents, Accidents that would of been prevented for sure been prevented with correct work wear and safety boots, Pretty gruesome, but there is one where a guy used a lathe, wearing a loose jacket...... Got wrapped around the lathe and is now brown bread
  9. If any of mine turn up without their boots on, They're sent home to get them.... Simple as that They will be the first one to nail your ass to the wall when they have their toes off .... Sod that, its non negotiable
  10. Vans are kitted with first aid kits, Fire extinguishers and emergency eye wash stations as standard
  11. Standard issue for ours, 2x Embroidered Fleece Jackets 3x Embroidered Polo shirts 2x Work Trousers (Bosch) 1x Full PPE Kit Safety Boots, Hi-Vis vest, Hi-Vis Jacket, Hard Hat, Gloves, Glasses, Goggles, Masks, Overshoes, All checked each month and refilled, Employee signs to the collection sheet on every refill... Just to cover my ass
  12. They seriously cant be making any money, not at them prices .... This is what kills the industry. I wouldn't set my alarm clock in the morning for that kind of earnings, I value my company, myself and my technical skill & knowledge too much to earn peanuts There are companies out there that install for peanuts and bombay mix, Agreed that they tend to be busy all the time, But who in the right mind would want to do 3 times the amount of work the same amount of earnings, That's not busy..... Its company ticking time bomb , suicide imo
  13. Where does 16 months come from, and a 16 month monitoring package ??????
  14. Premier for commercial, Euro mini for domestic
  15. Metrel have a tendency to do Guestimates rather than actual correct readings, They tend to stray. I've had 4 of them in the past, Always ended up using my trusty Robin 3075, 5406DL & 4020DL separate's, which I still have. They measure exact as my 1720, Don't use them very often as I use my 1720 for virtually everything
  16. I got my MFT1720 for £500 + vat, brand new from Electric Centre The older MFT1550 range hold value well, I would expect to pay £300 - £320 for a used one
  17. So, You buy flowers for every install then ...... By the time the engineer is to go in and install the system, The client should of already been fully briefed whats going to be happening during the installation. And how long the installation is expected to take, They dont need telling over and over and flirting text messages here and there,
  18. Same boat here, Got 14 email addresses on mi fruit phone, for various departments and companies, Once it goes Ding.... You cant help but pick the little devil up
  19. I could never go back to being employed, I've been my own boss since 1993 If someone told me what to do now, I would tell em to feck off Like many here, we all work our knackers off and it becomes the norm every day I have spent years pushing the ruthlessly business forward without realising the obvious, I've got 3 daughters, 5,7 &12, it only seems like yesterday me eldest arrived. To start putting things right and start spending precious time, I booked a family holiday 3 weeks ago in gran canaria in June. taking my girls for some long overdue undivided attention at a waterpark holiday I've finally realised, time is precious, it passes by so fast. Make the most of it now. Money isn't everything
  20. I remember when I wrote ours, Spent many nights in the office writing our Health & Safety Policy. It takes bloody ages. Same with Chas and SafeContractor, I did them all myself. Right pain in the @rse but rewarding at the end
