  3. I use the Megger MFT 1720, Get my certificates books direct from the NICEIC website, they are good quality ones
  4. That's the only PMO factor for me, but just plod on with them
  5. Was going give SW a call Monday anyway, Check if the Ricochet shock prices are current, I need either 10 or 15 of them
  6. TCE, Not had any issues at all. Gone through about 300 so far
  7. I use the Honeywell 215 for G2 or 7450DT / 7550DT
  8. There was, Maybe still is a HomeGuard around our outskirts... Guy called Geoff Tom_____son (AVOID AT ALL COSTS) He will con you
  9. Some cheap tat, Cant remember the name but they were about £5 each
  10. Youre gonna think I am taking the P1ss here, This is honest Systems are installed without a backup battery, they are extra's 2x pir / 1x Contact / 1x V8c / External Bell, Rubbish Kinetic tat
  11. Its all about the price here, You can get an alarm installed for £150.00 with a 12 month warranty. The pi$$ed up jordies will happily peel your carpet back and load up the Rapid 28 with extended mags Punters clearly don't give a toss that they smell like a pub urinal as long as their spanking new veritas compact is making a noise Best of it is, If there is cord carpet down, they use a router through the conti boards until it reached its destination They still advertise in the local paper B.S.4737 Approved Systems
  12. Noted....... 10 Lashings if you go back on your word
  13. More than likely, When did TSI start
  14. If you feel its having that much of an impact, then my advice would be go for it, Jump in balls deep As many others have said countless times before, being approved does not guarantee you work, You're in the same boat as I was for many years prior to going approved. Blowing smoke up my own @rse here a little, But.. Virtually every non approved installer in a 30'ish mile radius knew me before I was non approved. I honestly used to get calls every other day from these guys to sort their mess out or stuff they stuck on, or made a total hash of it I still get the odd one or two a month now, from so called installers who claim to know all, they know feck all Back then, I knew I was miles ahead of them in terms of technical ability and quality etc, but did nothing about it until 2 years ago I got sick and tired of approved this approved that, You cant do it because you're not approved, even though you CAN do it better What I'm getting at is simply, You know your area and the "knobheads" as you referred to that work it, You clearly have the ability to go the distance with it and make something of it, Take the plunge and go for it, You will fly through it My regret is that I started first started in this industry in 1993, with an ADE Logic 4 that still Works today. It took me 19 years in 2012 to take the plunge
  15. The problem isn't the badge, Its the $hite installers and companies that hide behind it .. A company is only as good as the installers, and its only as good as its last installation.... We all know that a good reputation can take years to gain, yet can be destroyed by just one job
  16. Ah right, Sorry.... Misunderstood what you were getting at
  17. The company I'm referring to is an approved company
  18. I look at it like this, I'm an honest person, running an honest business, I don't have time to, nor do I need to play dirty tricks to get work (This is only in Staffordshire) When contacted for an Intruder quote, I make a point of asking if they have or are obtaining 3 quotations If I hear the said company's name, I will in a polite way tell them that we do not provide quotes against the said company as its a waste of time. WHY is it a waste of time, They ask.... (We all know its not good to slate another company in front of a customer) My Reply Of course, Please accept out apologies, but the reason why we do not wish to visit to carry out a survey is not waste your time and ours. The XXX company have totally different operating procedures to us and for that reason we are not able to provide a like for like quotation. From experience we are aware of how the company are able to provide their services and systems at the charges they offer to the end user. I would like to thank you for contacting us with your enquiry, However this is a service level that we will not offer our customers.
  19. Not sure what happened, The customer jumped ship to us and we ripped out the Risco Poop and installed a Premier Lets just say, Every single end of line and alarm resistor was inside the panel, No SAB battery or Tamper " Linked out" Un-tampered external shunt key installed direct over the alarm pair of the detector " Keyswitch was plastic internal model"
  20. You're always going to get it though, There is another SSAIB approved just a few miles away from me, Not going to name the 3 lettered company, but easy to find on the SSAIB website. Believe me, Nobody has seen rough until you've seen their work.... They get work purely on price only They WILL undercut any quotation, Say and do whatever it takes to get the work. The company is so feckin rough, I have picture proof of it and have reported some of it as I thought it was my duty to do so When quoting within Staffordshire, I will always ask the client who else they have or are receiving quotes from before we waste our time If they tell me that XXX is quoting, I just tell them straight and don't bother going out to it, its a waste of my time Who in the right mind will install a Grade 2 commercial for £500 inc vat, Including monitoring.... All with Risco $hite They are advertising grade 2 systems now, fully installed, for £300 inc Vat,
  21. To be fair, that's a debate that is always going to be argued with both organisations offering the same thing, My sole reason for going SSAIB instead of NSI was explained in the first few posts of this thread, I do still stand by that reason. True fact is that a piece of paper does not make you do your job any better, However it does allow me to do a whole lot more than a non-accredited company. Winning jobs over from non-approved is something that still gives me a kick, I don't win them on price because I am always more, I win it with the fact we are accredited
  22. Thought I would give this a boost again, I had my second years SSAIB inspection audit visit yesterday with Paul Fathers, After spending my nights in the office over the last week, I had everything checked, double checked, All prepared and ready for them. Being told that our office administration is exceptional and in some cases above and beyond what's expected, I was really happy with this. Also had the same rewarding feedback on all of our SDP proposals, checklists and handover docs, In particular to our engineers pre handover checklist. Inspection visits done to a School access control in Stafford, then off to Walsall for a fully loaded Intruder and finishing with a commercial CCTV in Stoke Very pleased with the positive comments and feedback throughout the day and being told not to change the way we do anything That's 2 years without any comments, Advisories or non-conformities... All the hard work feels rewarding, I'm gunning for my merit certificate next year...
  23. I've had a direct account with CAME for years now, Our discount has been said to be above some wholesalers, Regarding the ZA4, I've just checked, We do pay less than my earlier post above. We do get good prices as we go through a good amount of parts.
