With the e-line, how are your installers getting on with putting the detector upto the ceiling with that screw cover needing to lift up? I had a look at video and what eol board do they come with? I use Tex and not had any problems. I like the Bosch but they don't come with eol.

Thanks James I had downloaded that and used it to come to the same grade. But where did you get guidance from for you risk factors/numbering. I guess what I'm asking is when they say prove your competency to carry out risk assessments for intruder what guidance are people using. The same goes for fire really although I know with fire people tend to go with FIA training (not a qual as such).

Risk Assessment to determine system design criteria, Grade and coms. Where are you people getting guidance to help determine the overall grade.

Of course, if a door bell cable has to why should cat5 be any different. You also have to remember you have to comply to all parts of the building regs not just part P. There are large parts that only apply to new builds and extensions for example you can rewire a domestic building and not have to comply with part M on heights of switches and sockets unless requested.

Indeed... But they are not wiring systems are they. + you don't normally install toys though the fabric of a building or to it.

You simply buy a consumer unit (Metal in domestics from 1 jan 2016) with a locking door. I think the last time I read doc M/P there was a hight stated for MCB'S(I could be wrong). Most alarm keypads I have come across when fitted top at 1200mm, the screens are un readable at my height 5' 10" and i have to crouch.

Had mine in from release and no problems to report, it's also half the price of the wired IP-COM and no cabling to sort out. (None of the 3 green LEDs flash on mine? They are constantly on)
