Pyronix Proximity tags
We had problems with Pyronix fobs recently, ours worked for the older castle and the hard wired products, but they didnt work for the newer Pyronix products. We found that another password has been added to the newer fobs in order for them to work. Maybe something Hik did ? We sussed the new password and reprogrammed our fobs so problem solved. We can now produce a fob that works with all panels which saves our engineers carrying loads of different brands

I need your advice - control panel
You will get a wide opinion here, which will just muddy the water, the better way to do this is get three quotes from local co,s I would recomend you choose approved co's then see what they have to offer with apps ect. Choose the COMPANY you feel most comfortable with, they will know the panel they sell inside out (if they are any good) then come here for advice if you feel you still need it. I would not ask a co to install a product they are not familiar with just becuase someone here recomended it, every time it goes wrong they will send an engineer that wont know the panel.

Is it possible?
It sounds idillic couple of hundred contracts just pop around and do the service once a year collect fee. You could buy a small co and set yourself up, I nearly did just what you are thinking about. I ended up buying something much bigger, but I often wonder where I would be now if I had gone down the one man band route. I turn over about 20 contracts a month and gain about 2 a month, sometimes I lose much bigger contracts than the ones I gain though. On a smaller percentage I dont know if I would have been able to survive if I was losing contracts on the same scale and not been able to replace them with new installs. You could always consider a business partner that installs. But dont make the mistake of under cutting the competition, you will only be selling yourself short.

Sometimes fixing something old is more trouble than its worth, especially when it is obsolete and you can no longer buy new parts for it. I would recommend you get three quotes, I would also recommend you use a company that is approved by an inspectorate, and choose the company that you are most comfortable with. The cables will probably be fine so thats a big saving, dont buy wireless unless you think there could be a problem with the cables

Id say you have had good value for money from it, I cant think of many 25 year old electronic products that people decide to keep going. Maybe its because I see so many burglaries and the damage that they do to people, but I find it really hard to understand why people scrimp when it comes to their security. An alarm panel is designed to protect you and the people you love from being burgled, or worse, so why scrimp, it just doesnt make sense to me.

A Securit 700L Plus available
Cars are hard work on ebay especially if they are popular with Asian/ Indian community. I sold an Avensis on ebay once and the amount of people that thought I was going to pay them to take it away was untrue I got hundreds of stupid offers. Some bloke from Ireland bought it in the end, met me at Gatwick and tried to knock me down, he had no way of getting to his next purchase so paid the full price in the end, £5k but even that was an argument

Pyronix Delta bell plus randomness
Pyronix bells have a habit of warping in the sun and moving causing tamper problems, most likely your bell lid is moving as it get warmed up and cooled down

EN50131 & PD6662
I didnt mean just for this industry I meant for quite a few things. With no BS for stuff people will start importing loads of dangerous stuff like electricals with no fuses and meat with cancerous preservatives, and underpants with no elastic. Standards cover most things, without them we have no statutory rights

EN50131 & PD6662
I think he meant the EU, not the standards. I suspect after Brexit we will have to adopt a lot of the EU standards until we have our own.

You have answered your own question, he has had good value for money out of it, if its lasted ten years nothing lasts forever. Not sure what you mean by split system, is but most decent panels can do far more than anything that was around when the CD72 came out. Area setting and part setting is available on even the most basic panels.

Paragon Plus NIGHTMARE!!
I have to agree even Pyronix would tell you that it was not their best effort. Why the feck did they make it so hard to get out of engineer mode?? did they think that burglars would be programming alarms and wouldnt be able to get out of engineer?? Personally I would skip it and get a proper system

Or behind a multiplexer with your scope checking you have 1v p to p. I always found it terribly clever how the mplexer encoded and decoded onto a vhs.
