  1. Were aimed at everyone We are an NSI gold co we offer self monitoring from £60.00 per annum you can have audio verification with two way response from any alarm company if you really want it. The reason none of us promote it is because you are reliant on what the operator hears as to how they respond. Two way response is only really any good if the person breaking in you house responds to "Whats the password?" So what does the operator do when he hears nothing? We can offer visual verification self monitoring from £60pa you can see what triggered the detector, and you have a picture of the perb to give to the police, because its unlikely that you will be home in time to catch them anyway.
  2. We charge far less than that for keyholder only And depending on what type of monitoring you have you can have Police response for around £50.00 per annum more.
  3. Id agree monitoring is 100% better than bells only, but you need one that is actually set up with Police urn registration, otherwise a bloke in a room dialing 999 because he didnt get a password could be a problem. That said whats happening at the moment I am guessing because they cant hear you they are calling the Police?
  4. It may sound like we are taking the pee, however, when you do something for a living and take pride in what you do, its a little annoying when a company comes along and does a half arsed job and then charges twices much as you would for doing it properly
  5. No tools are left in this forum over night
  6. Are you sure I am sure that newbies have with one post have changed their profile pic?

  14. Get two more quotes, and go with who you feel most comfortable with, you can search using your postcode at https://www.nsi.org.uk/directory/#topform and https://ssaib.org You could use a non approved company, however, I would suggest you only use a co that has been recommended by someone you know and trust. With an approved co you have a body to go to if it all goes wrong
  15. Hi you will understand it costs a fair amount of money to run a forum like this, servers domain fees etc. As with all forums the owners have sponsor that pay for advertising, if we allowed free advertising then we would lose our sponsors and we would not be able to afford to run this forum. If you wish to advertise that's fine just put in an application and we will tell you how much. If you just wish to participate then that is free
  16. Hi welcome to the forum, Ive merged your topics, there is no need to open a new topic for two questions. Question 1 cut the 12v pos and dont worry if you short any of the others. Question 2 The keypad can be removed from the wall with the cable still attached, if its likely to get wet put it in a plastic bag and seal it. If your alarm is under a service contract you may invalidate your contract by carrying out these works yourself
  17. ESG in birmingham had a whole control room full of them not being used, it may be worth giving them a call
  18. I heard that Pyronix were free, but are now looking at charging. Risco are not using their own cloud either, so they are actually paying a third party. The only way they can charge is by charging the installer, with the hundreds of thousands of connections they have its too difficult for them to manage the connections so the installer needs to do that. Then to invoice the individual customer would also be quite tricky, cutting the wrong people off ect. HKC have over 400,000 connections now, they are on their own approved cloud (so are able to grade the monitoring), and they have charged since day one. IMO the HKC app is the better looking of the apps, it works better with the CCTV than the Risco one too. I like the Risco one but it was very unreliable at first, and the panels are just not as good as they used to be.
  19. Risco have started charging for the cloud, and they can only charge their customers (the installer) Which means if you want to continue to use your app you have to pay your installer for it. To be fair nearly everyone else was charging for this service already, clouds cost money to build and run, so giving it away for free for as long as they did must have cost Risco a fortune.
