  1. Also you should wait for the tester to cool between tests
  2. Which model? Sounds like he got 6v and 12v confused
  3. Are you saying you used Cat6 for the alarm cables?
  4. Thanks Judge Judy
  5. Or a readers digest suggestion
  6. There isnt really anything as you describe but with app based alarm systems its not that hard to make something like that with a driod tab, I did this for my own use but I rarely use it for the alarm. The other problem with expensive keypads is that nobody wants to spend the extra money, especially if they are only likely to be burgled by opportunists . Many people like to keep things simple in most cases buttons are rarely used on a domestic alarm most would use a fob for arming and disarming, I do part set and quick set areas and theyre couple to buttons press. When my alarm goes off (Never happens) my smartphone tells me vocally what has activated I dont have to look at it unless I want to disarm it from my phone Much as I like the concept of a touchscreen keypad with a nice display, I use mine more to answer the door, look at the CCTV, control the heating, switch lights on and off, than I do to control the alarm. Oh and I would disagree about the dumb IP cameras AI is the new thing in CCTV
  7. I know a girl who who conned £5 from readers wives, she wasnt married, just shows how good there vetting process is
  8. Ive often sold it as an extra, when the customer already has a fire alarm
  9. Ive ordered a couple of bilge pumps and a float switch
  10. Looking at the Konnected diagram on that page its not talking in any format its just wired into the zones for inputs and the out puts for ....outputs Any panel will work with one of these. Assuming that your insurer is happy with DIY and that you dont need Police response, all you need is a hybrid panel with maybe a few additional outputs. The way you formed your original question sounded like you needed something totally different Monitoring in our world is sending signals to an alrm monitoring station to call the police, monitoring imn your world is adding a board that tells you your alrm system is working.
  11. Ability to connect to Home Assistant, via Alarm Decoded or Envisalink boards In What format? External Keypads and Siren Nearly every alarm panel has this facility nowadays Ease of connection for central monitoring station such as AMCO (dual path for insurance) You dont want a basic panel I would prefer the option to also add additional sensors that I missed off via RF as well, even panic buttons etc if that's possible. You want hybrid All sensors are currently wired back to central location, windows, doors, pirs etc They all do that When I asked what do you want the panel to do I meant what are you wanting from home assistant IE the detectors in the rooms to talk to your hub and switch lights on and off, when you open a door for longer than 20 secs it switches the heating off. We need to know what format you need it to integrate SIA, 232, 485 or basic input outputs?
  12. I am fairly certain that if the Fire alarm has to be monitored with brigade response it has to have its own monitoring in order to be fully compliant. If the fire alarm doesnt have to be monitored but you want brigade response thats a grey area. If it doesnt need to be monitored nor does it need brigade response (keyholder only) you can connect it to the intruder.
  13. Maybe you need to tell us exactly what you need the panel to do
  14. I have one similar to the one James I was using it for pumping the water that cam off the pool cover in the winter time. It struggled with leaves as I remember and its a few years since I need to use it I might see if its any good.
  15. I think the water isnt to bad its a big tank, if you read the reviews there is a guy that uses it in his allotment to pump water up hill The one I use for my fishtank is 7 or 8 years old, it is used for clean water only (with additives) but I have left it submerged for weeks in the past
  16. I was thinking I could use a few of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARAVAN-MOTORHOME-12V-SUBMERSIBLE-WATER-PUMP-COMET-VIP-PLUS-20L-PER-MINUTE-NEW/183948851003?epid=1223130493&hash=item2ad434b73b:g:dBUAAOSwv0tU5fki I already use them for refilling my fish tank and when need to refill the adblu in the Merc. I know theyre not high pressure but I am thinking do I need high pressure if its doing it automatically then it can do it for longer
  17. I should say the sonoff is to set up automatic watering
  18. This subject has got me thinking, I have one of those big square plastic tanks installed under the decking in the garden, its filled from rain water off the roof of the garage. We use it for watering the plants at the bottom of the garden using a hose and gravity. The problem is its quite a long way and the pressure is quite low, also the tank fills very quickly over the winter and I could do with filling some more water butts at the bottom of the garden by the greenhouse, I was thinking I could use a submersible pump like they use in caravan showers and stuff and switch it on and off via a sonoff relay. and another one that turns on when the tank is full to fill the two butts at the bottom of the garden .
  19. No you have to wait till the music stops
