We nearly had to make a claim when one of our engineers dented four corners of a brand new industrial unit with his ladder whilst fitting cameras. Makes my piss boil thinking about it

Thats a matter of opinion, value for money doesnt always mean cheap. I am happy to pay £3.00 for a decent latte, but a begrudge paying £1.00 for a cup of instant with UHT milk.

Im looking to replace the transporter and my engineers are saying I need a similar size because of all the kit that have to carry to site. I am not over sure they do need something that big, how do you get lots of rolls of Cat5 to site Andrew?

Installers van so most days it will be on average 50 miles round trip. The longer trips would be 150 mile round trip. But the transporter hardly ever does lots of short trips, not like the connects, they do lots of short trips.

Did better than our it had less than 120k when the engine died I wouldnt mind but we had just paid out about £2k on something or other on it. I could have leased a vehicle for less money than that one cost me

Check the batteries in your smoke detectors, check your drawers and cupboard close to the alarm panel for smoke detectors with low batteries

Swerve the transporter idea even the VW club think theyre ****. Our one spent more time in the garage than it did out and now it looks like the engine is fooked. My plumber has the same van a year older and his is the same as ours forever in the garage. I will never buy another one. AHD is still available HDCVI seems to be the new format. That said China still has a few boatloads of 480tvl domes with 3.5 lenses coming soon to a pound-shop near you, apparently Eastern Europe have found out you can get 700tvl cameras now

Depends on how long you want it for if its just for two weeks while you sit in a carvan then buy a preloaded sim search both amazon and ebay for the best deal, if you are gonna use it more permanently i.e. for work then by a monthly I found Mobi Data to be the best deal at the time but if you google data only sims you can get some good deals. Three seems to be pretty good I changed the works package to Corporate EE and I now pay very little for data sims

Yes but its pretty much everywhere, my kids watched tv all the way from Brighton to brum then on to Manc then on to Liverpool. You can put router mifi high up when you get to your destination if thats the only place you have a signal, and your/ipads/driods/phones will work on your lap.

Yes its quite a handy thing, the kids can watch TV/ play games on their ipads on one wifi router, rather than using up data on their phones. I have a really good deal on my sims for work through EE now, but before that I was using Mobi Data the deal used to be twice as much data for the first three month s but that deal is long gone. You can also buy a PAYGO sim full of data on EBAY/amazon ideal for holidays and so forth, it lasts a year providing you dont use all the data before the year is out. Its a bit like being at home with a router. Depends on the data package you have on your phones of course if its an advantage or not

Problem is your budget, and any panel I would recommend would not really be aimed at the DIY market. Our engineers have all been trained on the panels we install and even then they get stuff wrong, and tech support will only talk to registered companies. As a diyer with a small budget, I would not recommend you blow your budget on the most expensive panel only to find that you don't understand how to program it and you cant get any support.
