  4. my 1st thought would be ring a competent cctv eng? as a guess either the machine or its external brick type power supply* is shafted. you need to prove what does & does'nt work, eg can you prove the monitor off camera or laptop ? * if thats what it has?

  9. unless you've an old fashioned installer or a new build under construction it unlikely you'll get shocks or contacts on windows without wires/ trunking unless you go radio which inturn brings a different set of issues...

  11. Opinions on equipment are little better than opinions on cars ect... Somebody might have had 3rd hand astra in 1992 which always broke down & vowed never to buy a vauxhall again, An house alarm is only just a little bit more technically advanced than house brick, the skill is in fitting it rather than speccing the bestest gear. eg nailed to wall by a mong = problems on world beating kit...

  17. I was thinking he would have proper structured cabling with a spare fully populated outlet to rob for a cctv mon.. ain't I an idealist ?

  19. you drag the cctv program into the 2nd window & it will sit their as happy as sand boy, (until windows crashes or the client shuts the pc/ program) how far is desk from the dvr ?

  21. 20 yr old alarm parts turn up on ebay, electricians don't do pcb repairs, an electronics workshop maybe able to help you with this however I suspect its way cheaper to chance 2nd user items form fleabay. £480.00 for replacement isn't that dear when you consider the 9600 & 2 x 9625's would a £250 ish back in the 90's before labour
