As I sad above, you have absolutely nothing to lose by defaulting your current panel, if it works yay, if not then boo. Oh, and Texecom won't give a shite about your experience with an approved installer, I expect the approved list reads like a who's who of DIY alarms.

You may find crashing and reprogramming the current panel cures your issues, as above I'd bet one of the bells is a dummy.

Anything used in line with the job, i.e. laptop, phone etc are a bit naff mentioned in the advert imo, it's as though they should be thankful you don't make them get the bus. -

I had one many moons ago.. They don't make clusters like that anymore, as a young kid it felt like I was in control of the space shuttle.

lol, I've also seen lots of inside work to circumnavigate detection, from school kids tampering an IR220 and putting a bit of text book in the lens to deliberate blocking of beams to force a fail to set in a tyre place and cctv proving the alarm was set after the pc was removed and window broken etc etc etc
