Im Greg, a decades experience, from kent. Maintenance, installation, and callout for (as most of us now) CCTV, Access, Door Entry, Intruder, Fire, PA, Nursecall/ Cellcall, Gate automation / Barriers, and everything in between. What brought me here? Got shown a post where people were bitchin' and thought I would join the fun Im passionate about what I do and get thoroughly peeved at those that can't be bothered to take simple quick readings.

Hi Peoples I was directed here by a friend of mine. Not a DIY'er as such but I do home automation as a hobby and I'm just looking at putting some bits together for my own research (yes, it is a bit of sad hobby) DWDave has been showing me his work with his Galaxy 60 panel, and the integration with Windows etc, so I'm thinking of trying to decode the serial commands (or finding out what they are), so I can put something on an ARM system ( beaglebone) to link into an openhab home automation system. All just research at the moment and not for profit That's about it /gav

Hi, I am working at a new UK wholesaler. We are focused right now on two key technology areas 1. IP based systems of course 2. HD-TVI. The other technologies such as HD-SDI, HD-CVI don't offer the same simple analog upgrade route as HD-TVI. I'm looking forward to start talking with you all. Richard

Can anyone recommend a Geovision installer? I am needing an installer who is well versed in all of their solutions and would be comfortable putting together a fully integrated system including ANPR, IP CCTV and Access control. I am based in London, but shouldnt matter as its quite a large job! Thanks in advance!

Hi Everybody, I'm a multi disciplined subcontractor based in Cambridgeshire. I'm 35 & I've been working in security since 1997. For the last 5 years I've been self employed, mostly working away from home for national companies mainly in the west, but now I'm looking for something a little more local. Most notably over the last couple of years I have spent 8 months installing fire alarms in holidays chalets at Pontins in Weston super mare & since September last year I have been installing fire alarms in 19 new build projects for the MOD which is now nearing an end. Disciplines include Fire alarms, Intruder alarms, Access control, speech & video entry, CCT…
