June 1, 200520 yr comment_55546 My first ever install, and I will be ripping it out tommorow as we're moving. I'll do a few things differently next time though. I did'nt leave enough slack in the cables, so even though there's a decent amount there, there's not as much as I'd like. There are also a couple of unmarked cables, which should be fun identifying. Also, I kept adding bits to it, so it does look a bit messy. The PSU needs a grommet on the mains input, but apart from that, I'm a bit proud of it! Apologies for the mess on the floor too Trade Member Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/6349-for-old-times-sake/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 2, 200520 yr comment_55631 And you could have put the 12v cable from the psu in trunking instead of just clipping it to the brickwork The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! June 2, 200520 yr Author comment_55668 Thanks. Did'nt bother with trunking, as it's all gone now anyway. The PSU was only installed two weeks ago, so I thought it'd be alright for a couple of weeks. I connected the Trouble relay on the PSU across a zone, which triggers an output (LED) which I put in a surface patress/blanking plate on the landing, so I can see if it comes on.
