January 14, 200521 yr comment_37135 E5 is there but a bit vague. Its either the capstan belt fallen off, broken or old and worn. whip the bottom off and you should see the belt. If not it could be the mode switch. They are the most common, other than that its carriage faults and the odd loading belt that causes a problem. January 14, 200521 yr Author comment_37139 guys, its an old thing probably not worth repairing. Just thought i`d ask about the error message incase it was something simple, I`ll have a look at the capstan belt when next on-site. ........................................................ January 15, 200521 yr comment_37202 Tape jam? 37130[/snapback] as norman says, it's usually a tape error (mechanism) even when you remove the tape it sometimes won't clear. Send it off for repair unless you're good with that kind of thing Ok, next time I'll read the whole thread! Edited January 15, 200521 yr by Brian c If you don't know......ask.
