Visonic PowerMaxComplete code suddenly changed

Featured Replies

Hi all

Newbie here.

I moved into a house which has a working Visonic PowerMaxComplete burglar alarm system with 4 PIRs, external alarm, 2 remote fobs and door sensor.
A few weeks back, a surge knocked out a load of appliances, including the transformer in the alarm.
Needless to say, running on the internal battery, it ran out of juice and has been dead since the transformer was replaced,

It's now up and working, but my code isn't being accepted - neither is 1111 or 9999.

Strange, as the fobs are working and also the door sensor.

Hope it doesn't mean I'll have to do a hard reset and re-program everything

TIA

Guy

That is quite bizarre panels have a Non Volatile Memory (NVM) so they normally dont lose their programming when the power is completely lost.  It could be that the default codes process was activated when you powered the system back up. Not sure what the default code for the powermax would be but its normally something like 1234, 4567, 7890, 0123, 2222, ect  you could run through each one to see if  any of them work. Keep your fob to hand because two many wrong codes will cause tampers

Hey, thanks for your quick reply.

Yes, it's strange that all the other items are programmed in correctly. The manual says user is 1111 and maintenance is 9999. I've tried both. Neither work

I'm now beginning to think I changed it (bad memory), but have tried all my usual PINs but none has worked and it locks up for about a minute after 3 tries.

you should always chnage default codes. So id assume you did

I'm afraid not - it was the day after our wedding anniversary so we kept it.

I've just gone going to Installer mode - tried 8888, 9999, 1111 and 0000 - no joy (also tried 0123, 5678 and 7890)

This is mad...

You never had codes in first place then lol.

Apparently when it's first installed, they use 9999 or 8888 and then have to change it.
Maybe I'll try to find the people that first installed it (a million years ago!) - you never know!

I'd say someone tried the code defaulting procedure and got it wrong or the panel is knackered.

I think the latter might be right...
It beeps but you don't know if pressing the 0 really does enter 0

I've bitten the bullet and going to pay for KAT to come over and sort it out.
I've spent too much time on it already!

Thanks for your help and advice, all.
