Orisec engineer code

Featured Replies

My installer is refusing to give me the engineer code to my Orisec alarm system.

Does that mean I am locked into them if I want upgrades? Can another firm reset it?

The corcern is the installer is liable if your system fails to perform.

I understand their position and they are correct.

Don't know orisec and not sure it can be locked. I would.

However if your out of support with your maintainer they should default the panel (at a cost if visit required).

No your not locked into them assuming you own the hardware. But the programming may be theirs.

A default protects everyone so that's the way to go

Not only that if he tells the OP the engineers code, the the OP has the engineers code for all of his customers systems. this would leave customers vulnerable, its a bit like ford telling customers a back door into the programing of their cars can you imagine the consequences

that is assuming all sites have a common engineer code.

?

Nah man that's just odd companies that do that,

Different code and lock all panels is best ?

If the system has a wifi/IP module he can dial in and change the code to the default for you??
