They havent been triggered in a very long time maybe since they have been installed. Alarm will set and unset as normal and will trigger if they are bashed or knocked.

Yes wireless shocks work better don't you think aswell? 

It's just for aesthetics really, often awkward and messy to wire and need cable down the middle of the window for ideal positioning.

If it would look tidy or not retrofit would maybe wire.

the viper will flash like that its a 'comfort' led if you tap them again the led will stop for about 7 sec. Best to have them in this mode its like comfort leds on a bell, shows its powered

Can the led’s be turned off ?

Do you know how to turn them off ? Have they got jumpers within the shock sensor ? 

yes unless its a really old one then it was a link of wire iirc
