ACCENTA G3 DOOR CONTACT PROBLEM

Featured Replies

I have an accenta G3 which has been fine for some years  Recently there has been a problem with a door contact causing false alarms  I have changed both the contact  and the magnet twice But now the alarm wont set  I link out the circuit in question (5) and the alarm sets  so you would think faulty cable or faulty contact yet the contact bells through to the panel when tested with a multi meter and appears to work perfectlyThe alarm works when the circuit is linked out  but wont set when the contact is connected  as said i have tried 2 new contacts but still no joy  Any Ideas ??

Sets when linked out at panel end or contact end though?

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Its most likely a short between tamper and circuit, are there any spare cores on the cable?

Ok thanks I`ll see if there is enough play in the cable to try it

try metering between all cores ie red to blue, red to black, red to yellow etc to ensure you dont have any resistance between cores you shouldnt
