how s### is the T&E if you blue is nearly brown?

Is that a hole in the floor?

Black and Brown are L2 and L1, but should be marked the same colour if actually the same phase.

 

Grey is L3 or N with a blue sleeve or marker.

 

using Black as N is 'discouraged'.

 

That's right isn't it?

Assumed the original comment was about the new harmonised colours for mains.

I also think they where daft at the time, mainly for turning a neutral colour into a line colour but it's done now and in line with all countries in and around Europe so can't really complain.

thats not twin and earth then ... But it should still be obvious on the colour

no its the kitchen mdf templates before i cut the oak

I always wondered, back in the 70s when we harmonised flex, was that to make all colours the same as the emerging EC/EU, to eventually allow electrical goods to be sold anywhere, or was it as much

to differentiate between flex and fixed building wiring?

er sorry i dont think so, they seems pretty easy to identify, Maybe electrics isnt best for you or your eyes?
