That's why I love restoring Vintage electronics. As you can see people don't agree. It's all down to if you see it as a box pushing game or a service industry IMO. You can push as many shiny new boxes as you want but customers want a good service, it's the peace of mind and trust in your system and installer people should focus on. jezthomp Posted June 6, 2019 Author Share Posted June 6, 2019 The engineer has been and it was the bloke who's been before and said we had been locked out because of the power cut. Already has his battery with him, went to the main box and asked me to put my code in when the alarm went off. Came back down walk tested all the sensors and that was it fixed. Said all our settings, code etc will be the same. So as people suggested it was the battery that needed replacing. In theory is this something i could do in the future as it was obviously my code and not the engineer code when he opened the box and the tamper switch went off? Battery needed is a rechargeable 12v battery in region of 1.2 to 6Ah. And even worse worse case scenario the alarm only goes off for 20mins on a Accenta 6? Thank you for all the help : Hi Jez: Yes, from what you've said then it's quite feasible for you to change the battery yourself in the future. Did he take a meter up into the attic to check charging voltage / current ?. Sorry: Not sure what you mean by even worse case scenario, bell only sounds for 20 minutes on the Accenta 6 ?.
