Low Cost Wired system for double garage

Featured Replies

I am looking for a low cost wired system for a double garage - 2 "up and over" doors and one side-door.

Any recommendations?

Could you add it on to your home system?

I was planning a wireless system for the house and a seperate wired system for the garage.

(Not sure how the metal doors would affect the radio signals from the door sensors and decor isn't an issue in the garage).

I also might want others to access the garage without having to disarm the house.

This could all be achieved by a Texecom Hybrid system with a couple of keypads for both area's, at least then you get notification in the house when the garage is being turned over.

Can you get a cable to the garage from the house?

Any system with areas could be set to work like two systems.

You could wire with appropriate containment or use a hybrid system but it all comes down to cost.

Hmm - wire from the house to the garage would be tricky to do securely I think.

Does it matter? cutting the wire would set the alarm off its a DIY system at the end of the day.
