Potentially looking to hire our first engineer... Just curious what the going rates are nowadays.

 

Are these "packages - laptop, phone, pda, vehicle" standard in this day & age. & what starting salary for a technically overall good engineer should we expect?

 

Midlands based.

We need another engineer, after getting rid of another total muppet this week.

    Anything used in line with the job, i.e. laptop, phone etc are a bit naff mentioned in the advert imo, it's as though they should be thankful you don't make them get the bus. 

    Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

    There's a thought, you could get a lot of kit on a bus, a lot more than you can in a Kangoo, and the longer ladders will fit inside
