Accenta Fault

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a Honeywell Accent G4 panel fitted on my house.

The system developed a fault while I was away, the sounder apparently made some sound, but not a full alarm, and the strobe has been flashing since.

The key tones on the extension speaker also became very loud.

I cannot cancel the strobe, apart from that the panel seems to be working.

The only fault that I can find is that the 12 volt supplies are all delivering about 16 volts.

Is this too high? could this explian the symptoms?

Stuart

Sounds way too high to me. Are you able to prove the meter just to be sure?

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

maybe put a new battery in the meter?

I had one that was doing some strange things, we ordered a replacement RKP as we thought this might be the issues.  It turned out to be the power supply, one of the caps had let the blue smoke out.

Could be the same problem?  Although the transformer is separate the PSU is unfortunately located on the main board.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I borrowed a new Fluke from work today, and I now get 13.6 volts. Looks like I need a new meter.
Does this sound high? I figure that you need this to charge the battery, but should the supplies for sensors & rkp be this high?
Stuart

Nope this is spot on, glad we checked that last meter.

Now, when was the alarm panel battery last changed?

Either way, if you take the alarm panel battery out, whilst this isn't a definitive test, what reading do you get on the battery disconnected?

before you throw away your meter is the battery ok in the meter itself. When they get low it causes them to over read

He metered it, it was fine....

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
