I'm a Visonic guy since back in the days, I think it was 2001 when the Powermax was still the first panel of its kind on the market. The product is robust, still follows more or less the same set up, never really had technical issues, inovations came slow sometimes but then again they would make serious break throughs in wireless technolgy that other would follow years later. I find the new Power-G technology has some amazing features that make all the difference and I was afraid when Tyco bought them because of that technology that this might be the end of Visonic, but meanwhile I was assured that they will keep all the alarm brands alive (Visonic, DSC and Bentel) as they have different existing distribution channels in place for many years and it would be stupid to give that up. It was clear that they would integrate Visonics Power-G technology into their DSC brand and actually it will be also used for Bentel, which created pretty powerfull hybrid solutions. Not sure if DSC is popular here in the UK, I guess not so much as you guys have a lot of good own manufacturers. It was also clear from the beginning that ADT will use this technology, but who cares, one could always sell it under a different brand.
