I don't use texecom but as from previous threads it needs constant software updates that means a site visit? Is this true or not? HKC had a problem that when udl the panel was not set overnight! With your above comment I think texecom have a lot more software problems that require engineer visits to resolve them? I use Risco equipment and it gets a **** rating on here but when you start comparing it to other manufactures? They come out and start! Quote ! AP i am not going to get into a slanging match about this, we don't just issue software revisions to fix problems, some are to add features that people requuest, depending on the sites you have installed you may or may not have to flash the panel. On the + side if we have a probelm at least we admit it, and try and fix it. If you have service agreements in place you wil be going to site anyway, so if the new firmware fixes an issue or adds a feature you want, then just flash the panel as part of the service. I feel Risco are ahead of the competition and have problems but don't have to flash that many older panels that are out there to repair software faults. Quote ! Each Saturday I spend quite a few hours installing windows updates and various other software patches to address tons of issues but think not much of it as it's always what we've done. An alarm panel then it's taken as outrageous you should have to do such a thing. Webway issue tons of firmware updates. In 18 months there have been circa 12 but most of these are feature additions rather than big fixes. I suppose what would be nice is if the alarm panels had their own 'windows update' feature so it just did it rather than a visit with a laptop. I'm sure if hkc have it in time others will follow.
