You`ll note I`m not the one kicking off here.

I can see that pete but there are those that stick, you don't think about it but when time is right and xyz is in place are you saying it would be forgotten? For me I wouldn't. I would always seek a repair, months or years. Don't matter how long it takes but it will happen one day. Just my take
