Bazzaman
Thanks guys - that's good stuff. Live and learn. Not bothered about returning the Reson8 - only 20 quid. "Alarm systems should not be designed to have built in override switches it defeats the point." - understand your point of view and as a pro you have to take a stance. But when one is doing one's own thing one can bear in mind other considerations that may tip the balance. But bearing in mind your input, maybe I'll skip the switch after all. To be quite honest I would have stuck with my old horned siren and separate SAB module, but the batteries attached to the SAB are past it (like 25 years) and it would have cost almost as much to get some suitable batteries and all the fag of retro-fitting / soldering etc. so I decided to "upgrade" Hah! (And I tried to find a suitable replacement SAB - don't thing that sort sort of thing is made any more).
sixwheeledbeast
Skip the switch. If you need to isolate it I am sure you can work out how to do so from the panel end, with no modifications.
Lwillis
As above just fit a decent bell. By trying to skimp on the bell and add a switch you've probslly cost yourself more. £20 for that bell. Hmmm
