December 9, 201213 yr Author comment_295964 All right, I guess I'll have to have the panel exchanged. Yes it has to be data issue as it does the same thing even the data wires are not connected. And control panel can see the keypad when data line is connected because RX and TX are blinking. Thank you all so far for the help. Hope it's the keypad and not main board which is broken.. December 9, 201213 yr Author comment_295969 MrHappy: I bought it from the local UTC security dealer. RFS: I see you don't much appreciate ATS.. Hope I had better idea of their products _before_ I bought that set... Doh. I've done so hard work installing and cabling everything that I'm not willing to uninstall everything. What comes to that faulty panel I'm unwilling to believe that I broke it as I really believe I know what I'm doing. Otherwise I'd leave the installation to others. December 9, 201213 yr Author comment_295974 it's the most over engineered, totally unfriendly panel ever invented by man. This is what the salesman forgot to mention. In the beginning I was thinking DSC but somehow I bought this. I should have done my homework better. At least you're not telling it to be unreliable, unsecure or so... December 10, 201213 yr Author comment_296033 Update: Nothing was broken. Control unit just needed firmware upgrade to communicate with the keypad. Which I see is fairly odd but I don't care. Now it's fully working and configured. Pretty impressive device, kinda control freaks heaven which I like as I like challenges and tweaking.. December 10, 201213 yr comment_296035 As I said "something wrong with it". Needing a firmware update is`nt what you would expect and makes me even more "aware" of this panel. As above ta for the update.
