Yep you can and im talking 5839. We use porcelein conectors IF we have to make a Joint BUT not when the joint is behind a detector. How is the fire integrity diminished when the appeture is protected and sealed by a Smoke detector. False ceilings are only half hour and one hour IF clipped down to the grid. You guys wasting your dosh on galv pehh!Another note: i never conect the earth to the detector base. i use a yellow crimp and earth the U box with a single M4 (2x 1.5 in single crimp). Customers!
