Best Way To Protect Double Glazed Doors

Featured Replies

I have only just recently added my conservatory doors due to the fact I have set the house a couple of times in the summer and the doors have been open. Always had a DT in but both sides of the doors are now contacted.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

maybe, just that prefer 3 zones max on an 8 core so 2 x viper & 1 x mrc.

I'd go 2x6 core, & have both leafs on one circuit & both shocks on the other...

I thought you had to do both leafs. What if the none contacted door is left open and armed?

I thought I would install the wired shock on the mostly static door and the magnet on the main door.

sounds rather ruff.....

I'd always have a motion as backup as the seals on some windows can be easily removed without setting off the shocks

I wouldn't mount anything like that on a door due to slamming damage etc

Very good point, although newer stuff has the beaing on the insides.

In fact have a plus point for that.

That's a good point thanks.

I always took it contacting both was regs under BS.4737 gor that very reason?

Seen some put mag on one leaf, and contact on the other but that needs a door loop so not sure if that wins either.

I have no issue with decent dual-tec glass breaks, as long as there is not a window cleaner employed or protected area is not close to a main road.
