  1. the danger with your meeting is that the attendees will have their own agenda which may not neccaseraly represent the interests of the majority of this industry.
  2. Most already do. Its normally in the programming options. My suggestion is even easier for manufacturers.
  3. These statements are surely at odds: BSI’s ambition is that the UK should continue to participate in the European Standardization System as a full member of CEN, CENELEC and ETSI. We consider that this is a likely outcome of the forthcoming negotiations between the UK and the EU. I will certainly do my best in the coming months to deliver this ambition, in the interests of UK industry, government and society. Were coming out, the majority system has spoken. Screw the EU standards which even after 10 years + of people trying to get square pegs in round holes the wise concede don't work as a STANDARD. Its not so difficult to move forward without EU bureaucracy. My draft solution would be to start again with a G1 = DIY, G2= pro system (similar to 4737) that starts at a higher level than the G2 currently in place but would encompasses greater levels of protection in line with the risk. eg. anti mask in defined areas and single/dual path and higher poling rates all based on risk. Simple is workable.
  4. Don't disagree. End of its a camera replacement.
  5. Camera looks like a DS-2CE56D1T-VFIR3 which references the bracket ref DS 1273ZJ which leaves a gap that the customers maintenance spark isn't happy about. cant say I disagree. All we did is replace one of eight existing cameras and a vidio recorder DVD.
  6. Can anyone exsplain if this camera is supposed to seat with its bracket like this or has the installer got it wrong.
  7. Send me a PM with your details and I will put someone in touch.

  9. I picked up on a conversation today or overheard. My understanding is the law in regards to contractors going bust has changed. Our office is persuing a failed contractors insurance company for damages. Anyone else done this?
  10. Are you using a mimic board or is this more a mimic screen. Using Extened format suggest you may be mimicking the ARC. If it's just status on screen then why aren't you using the control panel integration software. I read and re read your post and my initial conclusion was your trying to reinvent a wheel?
  11. Just posted a pic in another topic. It's obvious people will try anything. Earth wire taped to MICC and conductors sleeved and taped all with a pretty red gland.
  12. Found this today. Look closely at the Left sounder cable! Perhaps alarm engineer not preferred
  13. not just the cable. Connecting fire to intruder has more break in regs than you have fingers.
  14. Daughter? Still in the industry I think we will be using the kit she's selling.
  15. E-writer pro. I have never used it. The unit plugs into a PC and the office programs the the unit with the reader type required. On site you hold the lead on to the reader and press the program button until the LED turns green which is seconds. The reader then works with the cards you require. It no longer recognises the existing card type.. The replacement cards are normally added in bulk by en- block adding Using a memory stick imported from excel this bit I do a lot.
  16. Just read my poor spelling. I hope you understood. apparently the unit is USB powered and you hold the pins in position press the power switch and when the LED flash green the new protocol is written. it takes less than 10 seconds. The issue is with potted reader as the chip connections aren't visible.
  17. Not a video but a picture. I hope you get the idea.
  18. seen them do it in the office. I will try vidio it being done I don't think it's a tag writer thats a different bit of kit they use. My trainee changed the reader protocols on what I guess is a 30-50 door site so the existing readers could be used on a common card.
  19. http://www.paxton.co.uk/products.asp?id=011,24&strStage=product_page&strFamily=net2&strGroup=group-05079 universal! Has anyone ever used a chip writer to reprogram a reader to work with other cards? Cant do this on potted readers but it looks easy enough.
