    Most devices have some kind of engineer access right down to washing machines , mostly leaked out info on google , but should they have a right to access? Don't think so Maybe new rules with quals will include transfer policy

    Set an ip address for the network card, enter that into the app and your done Obviously you need to resolve the external ip problem if you don't have a fixed one

    I think as a simple app the selfmon "virtual keypad" is allot better than the Honeywell version because it simply mimics the keypad on your phone , network card is cheaper to compared to the Honeywell version

    Just upgrade then to flex and the Honeywell Ethernet and use the Honeywell app Although don't know of any security issue with selfmon app

    Did you investigate why the alarm went off at 1am? Apart from spiders there would have been an event or something in the log to tell you what activated it Would help you perhaps decide what to do

    Some psu's need a load on them , I think that's what JW referring to, some switch mode psu s for example can give weird readings with no load

    Your possibly talking about the gel filled stuff??? , not used allot now, mostly was fibre optic problem , or larger cables that need to go further in, you joint because it's easier put in internal grade on thick cables, cctv / cabletv use that stuff , and as you say low smoke inside sometimes "specified"

    Not really , plenty diyers trying fit professional alarms , but can't work out the programming , even grade ones speakers can't be connected let alone programming
