  1. I recently took out a few of the old Aritech Ultrasonics, still worked a treat to be fair to them.
  2. Haha, not seen those to be honest before my time.
  3. With those projects I did think so,demanding.
  4. Ahead of it's time ,as with the Vigil UDL.
  5. Welcome,Subbing for Chubb Systems?
  6. Pull it out, they're an old panel now not a great deal left in the field.
  7. Thats understandable, first three locations are pretty close and I'm currently often working in Rye,Dartford etc.Hopefully someone good joins you guys. On a double pole system?
  8. BN11 is looking to be Worthing is that correct? A fair way from there to be honest probably about 120 miles. Im near Dover.
  9. Its a double push for sure, fitted loads of that sort. Probably used to be a counter of some sort there and hasn't been removed.I would have been daring my friends to press it haha
  10. Not sure but a guy at our place used to install the Excecutive panel in the days of Moderns which was early early Galaxy system. True that, sound once installed properly.
  11. The best way in all honesty is to learn on the tools,a crash course really isn't the way to go in my opinion a lot of it is learnt over real on site scenarios. Do you know anyone or firms locally that may have you on for a bit of labour on some jobs etc?
  12. Sounds like the detector is triggering quite often.I'd never mount a PIR looking directly at glass especially as large as french doors, this could be the issue. Is there any pattern to it triggering? There are plenty of things it could be before directing it at being faulty. As for monitoring Matt has mentioned a good product and service or you could look at something simple like a speech dialler unit. This will not offer the abilty to reset you system etc like the IP module.
  13. The best thing to do would be to contact the company that installed it and get it serviced along with a new battery.Low battery sounds like it's been neglected for quite some time and could do with a good check over before you use it incase it has faults and id forever false alarming. Explain to the surveyor you wan't to delete the old codes and use new ones.
  14. I don't think so to be honest haha. I think they just want to talk about Adacs ZMP.Just realised how old this is and Mikeald's random post he seems pretty sure.
  15. I don't think it's a case of not wanting to help, but more being a little protective over whom the information about the kit is given too. Their normally not the sort of sites joe bloggs would take over.
  16. Welcome,as mentioned try and get in trade. I'm also based in sunny Kent.
  17. It's a good thing to know, looks superb in the right situation.
  18. Glad it was a hard wired system too,my personal preference over wireless if it's feasible. Some jobs can be a pain and sometimes the customer dosen't even realise how much effort you've gone to to conceal a cable and how much neater trunking is with Caulk. Kepp up the good work.
  19. Genesis as in Securicor Genesis? Clever old panels them, have had to update a few of those in the past Genesis loops A-D used to be the worst. As for detection worked at a site with origional 1971 door contacts, built well out of aluminium and made in England.
  20. I was working in a greek restaurant in Kent doing a panel upgrade and several additions.Whilst gutting the old panel to take it off the wall i isolated the spur from the fuseboard. To my suprise in the cupboard was a lovely looking dagger type thing.
