  1. 25+ year old cables, 20year old expanders, cable length, water in man holes, length of time its measured ? its not a problem site,, so never tried to fixe it.
  2. I would normally wire intruder alarm data in belden, daisy chained, screened to cabinet (normally 4mm machine screw & nut, floating at last device
  3. spikes killed them, I've done PE24's between Edinburgh & London this yeat & don't go back I also do Euro's & Orisec & don't have ay real issues with anything. Al doesn't do Texecom using more exclusive equipment...
  4. - PE 168, now much smaller system than it was for 20 years as a P168, each building has at least 1 psu, cables run under the public roads
  5. Every possible measurement needed to commission and diagnose an intruder alarm can be done with multimeter If you have property large enough to need 5 expanders & lots of expensive test equipment I would assume some with your qualifications & talent could earn more more doing your own job & pay a proper alarm co. to provide a working complaint system rather faff around wasting time & money doing it poorly.
  6. As I understand it the PSU comes from Elmdene, when they failed they just stopped producing voltage. Compare it the ones o your the PSU2000XP's
  7. I've got lots of it in the field, the oldest premiers are over 20 odd years, But the 2.5A of power is at 12v ? Chances are 5 extensions speakers will be almost all the current of the system !
  8. Roughly speaking the controls will power- Its self & some detection devices 1 external sounder 1 keypad 1 extension speaker 1 communicator Maybe a 2nd keypad or an expander with mostly contacts on it It will probably need a 9ah battery to have the correct amount of standbay time
  9. That's nice... did you read the installation book where it states the size of the psu & the current drawn by each texecom device ? You have the main board, 5 expanders, 5 speakers & a keypad I also assume you have an external bell(s) & powered detection All powered by the panel....
  10. normally closed put 1 wire off the circuit on the terminal with the red wire & the other on ther terminal with the black wire
  11. neither the controls or the button are something we'd see in the UK one circuit wire into the left terminal, alarm value resistor across both the device terminals, a tamper value resistor the right terminal, 2nd circuit wire soldiered on other side of the tamper resistor this would be double end of line resistors, you product or market place may do this differently...
  12. The bell should ring as soon as the power is removed regardless of whether its on day or engineering mode If the alarm is old, diy or fitted by a muppet, it might or it might not ??
  13. In case anyone cares- https://scontent.fhuy1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/439960524_10100286613633620_5418069429403384766_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5f2048&_nc_ohc=wN-L9hw0mVcQ7kNvgEgrhfa&_nc_oc=AdiNhsYMn3umtQAuQdcPy-p0UvTWN0uYB8JuLeOOmU0WjL7Srz9XF0ZNB_LWzbpxuzQ&_nc_ht=scontent.fhuy1-1.fna&oh=00_AfDAoUjAbu5MwvkXc5I-8FRQ7GkXyXnuKN6Yq69vP0J8Ew&oe=663BA2AE a hardware picture found on facebokk...
  14. Invert the 2 negative output? Or Use relays from the neg outputs? Use a relay board on the Stu outputs if it's a 48? Add an expander with 8 outputs? Whatever works for you ?
  15. It a euro 46 with 76 zones as far as I'm the 46 did more than 46 zones ? It might have done 76 but I would have to look at the book... There is a plastic hybrid panel with built in radio coming... For the last couple of years Does the 280 do the app ?
  16. who's gonna be the guinea pig & have all the issues ?
  17. News to me, the legal info is missing from each of the websites, google finds the info regardless This was only interesting bit of info for me- 4000 x £150 is £600k which is not a lot of money for running an arc ?? (yes cctv pays more, however something like a smartcom will pay less) I guess at - https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11798207
  18. Modern panels work best with 1 eol device per zone However- depends on the model of contacts how they are wired ect...
  19. I be £100.00 or offers... However it was probably cira £50 to buy back In the day, so inflation wise a bad investment
  20. I'd assume late 80's ? Probably cost a few quid at the time ??
  21. the current offer from the Domino's is £12 for a large pizza... your "3 pizza keypad "is probably the same £ including vat as it was sold for 20 - 30 years ago when it was brand new & had a manufacturers warranty. Factor in inflation & even though it was probably nicked form work its been a less than Stella investment...
  22. EWD most are a negative return with negative triggers With + & - correctly terminated, at the panel end, touch the return wire to the bell trigger wire, it should sound....
  23. Which ? , you must be reading Razzle as only w@nkers would rate a Ring alarm....
  24. All commercial controls are much of a muchness, I did an ION 10 recently, I find them much harder than a euro, orisec or texecom There is no DIY controls, everything is based on assumed knowledge
  25. I work for lots of electrical contractors, I'd assume you'd have you own contacts Depending on what you've got & how's it fitted- CP-20, PE64-W or Euro 46 + Radio Zem I can probably change the controls in 1-2 hour, 15 mins a device & 30 mins for a sounder Nobody is producing consumer equipment, its all quirky...
