I am hoping to have some advice concerning IP CCTV products from the QVIS/ADATA product range. Have any of you used or are using these products? Please let me know your experience with this kit and your opinions compared to other brands.

The Honeywell activ8 Pet friendly PIR is very nice looking PIR but it does a really good job when protecting my property and as I have a dog in the house who we let roam round the house freely and I've had no false alarms and It's a PIR I would recommend and there better than the old PIRs I bought 1 Activ8 pet immune PIR to try and fitted it in the living room zone 2 and all PIRs have been changed to Honeywell Activ8's except zone 5 which was upgraded to an Optex PIR in 2008 that can also be a pet immune PIR by turning the board inside it the other way round and the Optex has given no false alarms but I would recommend a Honeywell Activ8 or Optex Wonderex EX-35

What can i say but wow, cracking little panel. Built in sounder is a beast My First time programming one up not keen on the predictive text though. Also thought it was strange not programing fobs in engineers menu. But nothing to major. Stood scratching my head why the keyfob full set was only setting area B. Yes i programmed for intelligent set, only took me few minuites to realise. Well easy to program zones, once you do a few jobs be a dodle , probably one of the easiest wireless panels ive used, they look proper smart aswell Would actually put one in my house tbh

Hi Everyone, First of all, I apologise my poor English, as I am not native. I am making a research study on Smart security systems for residential in the UK. I am struggling to get clear information about this segment. I did a similar job for US and it seems that there, they are a bit ahead of the UK and the Continental Europe. As I am looking for Pro channel and DIY, I am using this post only to reach you guys, professionals. Does anyone in the forum can give me some tips about the smart home security systems in the UK? I am looking for Pro Vendors, meaning the main brands in the market that deal exclusively with installers…

Well, the above is virtually all you get in the box other than a 'high gain' (T-bar aerial - albeit in funky white) and some sticky pads. I have to say now I absolutely HATE the mini MMCX plug or whatever it is, feels flimsy and under unnecessary strain. Webway score here with the threaded connector (SMA?) The manual is very, very brief, and whilst it only needs to be, did leave me wanting more just for info. As you can see, there are only 4 LEDS. GRN or Green, is signal strength, solid for great, flashing for ok, and off for not so good - although, not, NO signal as I have found. The SVC Yellow LED regards the network and SIM registration. The YEL Y…

So I guess you all wear comfy trousers. Today I got my new uniform, Company changes uniform every 3-4 years and what we get and today we all got snicker trousers and god they are comfy and so light and soft. What do you guys think? Are they good and still comfy after 12 hours and crawling about lofts and etc?

Security Warehouse Eco 4 Channel Budget DVR Introduction Search for ‘4 Channel Analogue DVR’ on the internet and you’ll find more results ll not die and ironically you can now even get analogue DVRs in almost stylish white iMac mini type cases, aimed at home use; although they don’t feature things like RS485. It could be argued that ICs like the Sony Effio series or the 960H format have pushed analogue into realms of quality not envisaged 5 years ago when IP was seen as the best way forward, squeezing that extra bit of performance out of analogue video with little difference in cost for the camera, as opposed to IP where entry level is still at a high pri…

How can they ever be as good as the mirrored optic Alarmcom designed IR series they replaced? That's what I thought when I got the email saying that the IR series were dead and buried, I think nearly 20 years since they first turned up on the scene. Many years before that though, Siemens quietly launched the e-line series... Which today looks like this, line up wise: There is even a website which looks a bit like this - http://www.e-linedetector.com/e-line/ So I've been using the IR series for a few years with great success (although, ironically, since they were discontinued, I've had 2 false alarms on IR sites that have been cured* by replace…

A really quick 'review' of the SecWare budget 4 channel D1 DVR http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3859 Introduction HD-SDI is the friendly name for SMPTE 292(M); a digital video transmission standard published by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) for moving images at a nominally 1.5 Gbit/s interface. Two exact bitrates are defined; 1.485 Gbit/s, and 1.485/1.001 Gbit/s. This allows the transmission of uncompressed, HD images and is stable at 75ohm co-axial line lengths of up to 100m before repeaters are required. Despite all this, and provision for all types of metadata within t…

Introduction Having used Optex detectors for years, I thought I'd review the two latest versions of there Quad PIR against each other. From the manufacturer... SAVER RXC-ST Design, construction and packaging Firstly the packaging the SAVER coming in a plain box and the Core series in a blue printed box, this is larger to a accommodate a ceiling bracket. I am not keen on the packaging for the SAVER, well I say packaging I actually mean the fact it has SAVER printed in bold on the box. Stupid name for a detector; in my opinion. The two sensors have a similar construction, manufactured from a sturdy white plastic they have that classic Opte…
