Just thought i would do the intro thing! Currently running my own business installing CCTV and anything else security related if asked. Most of the time i sub-contract and you can find me in ASDA's installing cameras quite often. I also install PA systems and TV systems in Tesco's, again subby work but it pays well! Prior to my own firm i worked for a small local company and looked after the CCTV systems in the Northumbria Police City/Town Centers. I also had 4 years working for Gratte Brothers group, again installing CCTV in Tesco's, Car Parks at Heathrow and Glasgow airports and a few other odd places. My security industry schooling if you like was as a service engi…

Hello I'm Ivan, a locksmith based in Dorset. I occasionally get requests to add electronic security and know sweet fanny adams about them - so am here to learn as much as possible. I don't see myself fitting alarms full time, or taking on complicated installations - but the ability to add a simple residential installation in a professional manner would be a real string to bow. As such would be grateful for any guidance and help I can scrounge. Can anybody recommend a good all round basic text for late night swotting? Many thanks Ivan

That was the first alarm I played with, and managed to work out how it worked without the luxury of the installation manual (Yes it took ages me ages to even connect the first LIM!) Hope to see y'all around! Sparks...

A warm Hello to everyone on this board. Been installing alarms for approx ten years now (amonst other things). Closed down web site and business two years ago for two reasons. - Electricans were installing the bulk of alarms in this area at prices reflective of the workmanship! I was mainly picking up the resulting problems.. - I branched into telecommunications and found little time for alarms. However, the alarm world stays close to my heart and I still install the odd full spec system, but by no means depend on it. Favourite system is texecom R8 with vocaliser speech dialer. I live in Mid N.Ireland. I'm 30, have a wonderful 15 month old daughter and am finally do…
